News Release: Monsoon Floods Affect 120,000 in Assam
July 12, 2013
Recent floods in the Indian state of Assam have affected 120,000 people in nearly 450 villages, and locals expect the devastation to escalate. The Brahmaputra River, which overflowed and caused catastrophic flooding in 2012, is flowing above dangerous levels again, and many are worried about river embankments that were never repaired.
In one district, 13 churches and 10 mission stations have been affected.
Please pray for:
Safety for the people of Assam and protection for their homes.
Guidance for Compassion Services teams as they offer relief and for government officials as they work to control the damage.
