Vacation Bible School in South Asia

Helping children and families in Asia know they are loved and accepted by Christ

Watch how Vacation Bible School helps transform the mindset of children across South Asia from unaccepted to loved and accepted.

Nearly half of Asia’s population is under 18 years old, and many of these children live in poverty. Some take on the shackles bonded labour to provide food for their families, and some have been told their entire lives they are worth nothing — better off dead. Most have never before heard Jesus’ name.

Children come for the fun and games -- but also hear something they don’t expect.

Much like children in the West, children in Asia attend VBS for the fun games and activities. One thing many children in Asia don’t expect is to hear there is someone who loves them, cares about them and accepts them.

‘Jesus loves and accepts me?’

Many children find this hard to believe. Because VBS is hosted by trained, GFA-supported workers, children are able to experience the reality of someone caring about them and are able to hear the truth of Christ’s love.

VBS doesn’t end with the kids.

VBS not only impacts children, but also touches families. Families are invited to attend their children’s performances at VBS, see what their children have been doing and interact with pastors. Because of this, many families come to understand the hope of Christ.

Through Vacation Bible School:

  • hundreds of families now love Jesus
  • thousands of children realize for the first time that Jesus loves them
  • children who used to look down on themselves can now say, “I’m accepted.”

Give a child in Asia the chance to attend VBS by providing $5 VBS packets

$15 provides for 3 children
$25 provides for 5 children
$75 provides for 15 children

Each packet contains:

  • a New Testament
