Pray for Gospel Literature to Change Lives

What can a piece of paper do to change lives? Sometimes, a lot. For people who have never heard about Jesus, a simple Gospel tract can introduce them to the Creator of the universe—the God who loves them—and point out the door to eternal life. And because literature of any kind is valued in many of the African and Asian areas where we serve, a piece of Gospel literature is often read, re-read and even passed on to others, creating an even greater impact. This month, we are praying for God to transform lives through 100 million Gospel tracts. Join us in asking Him to move mightily through Gospel literature!

We want to be able to share the hope of Christ with anyone who needs it. In the African and Asian countries where GFA serves, hundreds of languages are spoken. Sometimes the same tract can be printed in various languages; other times, specific tracts minister to a specific language group most effectively.

Please ask the Holy Spirit to direct leaders to know which languages to print which tracts in. Pray also that God will provide reliable, quality printing outlets for Gospel literature.

Passionate about sharing the Good News, both GFA missionaries and believers in their congregations often carry Gospel literature to offer to others. Many times, believers reach someone just in the nick of time when they lie fallen at rock bottom—sometimes even as they contemplate taking their own life. The message of hope shared in Gospel literature can literally save lives.

Pray God will lead our believers and missionaries to share Gospel literature with the right people at the right times. Pray the Holy Spirit will fill believers, giving them wisdom and courage, especially when they’re sharing in more sensitive and difficult areas. Ask Him to prepare the hearts of those who will receive the literature, and pray people will see the eternal hope of the Good News.

The beauty of Gospel literature is that it can easily be carried in someone’s pocket or bag and travel to remote communities, new areas or busy cities. Often, a Gospel tract will be read by its original recipient and then passed on to others, multiplying the number of lives it touches.

Pray that God will direct each piece of Gospel literature to the people who need it most. Pray that these pamphlets will survive wear and tear and bring hope to many. Pray that they will go where the Good News has never gone before so that even more people can call on Jesus’ name (see Romans 10:13-14).

After reading a tract, people often become curious to learn more about God’s love for them. Many decide to visit the local church or contact the local pastor to learn more. But for others, distractions, worries or even opposition from family members can make it difficult to follow through with their initial interest. Scripture warns that Satan wants to snatch away the seed that has been sown in their hearts (see Matthew 13:19).

Pray that people who read the tracts will take the next step in their faith journeys and find answers to the questions in their souls. Ask God to satisfy the hearts of those who desire to know Him more and protect people from distractions that could keep them from connecting with Him. Pray also for those in difficult situations, that God will meet them where they are and provide relief.

After people read the Good News in a piece of literature and take next steps to learn more, many find new life in Christ and will share what God has done with their families and neighbors.

Pray people who receive Gospel literature will be transformed by its message and will share the hope they find with others. Ask God to bring lasting peace and transformation to families and communities.
